Typically, how long does a Vocational Evaluation lasts?
Depending on the referral questions provided by the referral source, a Vocational Evaluation lasts usually from 2-6 hours. If more in-depth services are requested, this process could last longer than the expected period of time.


What happens during a Vocational Evaluation?
Referral questions may be provided by the referral source and once referred, a Vocational Evaluator or Vocational Evaluator Assistant schedules an appointment with the referred consumer. Prior to the appointment, the evaluator gathers important information such as previous Psychological Evaluations, Physical Health reports, prior/current grades, etc. During the appointment, a comprehensive intake occurs with the consumer. Following an intake, a comprehensive assessment occurs. Once the assessment phase is completed, the consumer is debriefed and offered opportunities to ask questions or clarify any parts of the evaluation process.


Where does a Vocational Evaluation Occur?
A Vocational Evaluation occurs in a setting where we can assure the results will be valid and reliable. This should be a setting where the consumer is comfortable to fully engage in the Vocational Evaluation process. Examples of settings where a Vocational Evaluation can occur are schools, residence of the consumer, office, or community settings. In particular, if a Situational Assessment is requested, it will be conducted in a community setting.


Are there any risk factors involved?
No, there are not usually risk factors involved when conducting a Vocational Evaluation. Consumers are consistently observed to assure consumers are not experiencing any pain, ailments, and/or harm during the evaluation process.


Typically, when is the Vocational Evaluation report completed?
A report is usually completed and returned to the referral source within a 2 to 3 week timeframe or sooner unless there is additional information needed to complete the report.
